The Lucrative "Loot" from Underground Forums

Rather than paying for official subscriptions, users are lured by "Premium" access offered at 1/10th of the retail price through specialized Telegram groups or the Dark Web.

In reality, the vast majority of these accounts are the "spoils" of Infostealer malware campaigns (such as RedLine, Vidar, and Raccoon Stealer). Instead of launching a direct assault on the robust infrastructures of OpenAI or Anthropic, threat actors target the weakest link: the user's local device.
Technical Vulnerabilities: From Session Hijacking to Prompt History Leaks
The most critical concern today is not merely losing account access, but a sophisticated technique known as Session Hijacking. By extracting session cookies directly from the browser, an attacker can bypass existing Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) layers and enter the account "through the front door" without ever needing a password.
When an employee’s AI account is compromised, the entire Prompt History is laid bare. This history often serves as a repository for highly sensitive corporate data, including:
