As reported by the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) on The Guardian, passkeys offer absolute protection against phishing because they do not store any sensitive data on company servers. This means that even if a company's system suffers a massive data breach, your credentials remain completely safe. Furthermore, it is impossible for attackers to reuse a single key to cross-infiltrate your other accounts.

What concerns do users have when switching to passkeys?

Many people worry that losing or misplacing their phone - where the hardware-bound passkey is securely stored - will completely lock them out of their own accounts. Nevertheless, experts maintain that this transition is an inevitable and irreversible trend for the future of digital security.

Switching from traditional passwords to PINs and biometrics via passkeys is more than just a technological upgrade; it is a revolution in our security habits. Despite the practical hurdles ahead regarding user convenience, passkeys undoubtedly stand as the strongest shield to protect you against an increasingly sophisticated wave of cybercrime.
