IPSIP Vietnam strengthens ties with RMIT and Ho Chi Minh City University of Education

For IPSIP Vietnam, connections between businesses and universities extend beyond posting job vacancies or accepting interns. Through its collaboration with RMIT University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Education (HCMUE), IPSIP Vietnam has gradually become more involved in career guidance activities, student dialogues, and discussions about changes in the labor market.

Invitations to participate in programs and panel discussions, along with collaboration proposals from the universities, are positive signs of relationships built on meaningful engagement among businesses, lecturers, and students.

IPSIP Vietnam maintains its partnership with RMIT

The relationship between IPSIP Vietnam and RMIT began through recruitment activities and business–student engagement.

IPSIP Vietnam has used the RMIT Careers Online Portal (COP) to advertise employment opportunities and connect with RMIT students. Following recruitment campaigns, RMIT’s Careers, Alumni & Industry Relations team also proactively contacted IPSIP to record the outcomes - including the number of students who received employment or internship offers - and gather the company’s feedback on the recruitment process.

After maintaining regular communication over time, IPSIP Vietnam was recognized as an RMIT Partner. The two organizations subsequently expanded their engagement beyond recruitment advertising.

RMIT regularly shares relevant programs and collaboration opportunities with IPSIP. These include proposals to host international students as interns, introductions to students seeking internships, and invitations for IPSIP Vietnam representatives to participate in selected panel discussions and university programs.

IPSIP Vietnam continues to maintain this relationship with RMIT. For IPSIP Vietnam, it provides a valuable channel for connecting with emerging talent while expanding dialogue with the university on recruitment and internship initiatives.

Supporting students at HCMUE’s Faculty of French

Alongside its relationship with RMIT, IPSIP Vietnam also maintains a special connection with the Faculty of French at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

An IPSIP representative has returned twice to participate in university programs in a distinctive dual capacity: as both a representative of a recruiting company and an alumnus.

Combining these two perspectives means that conversations with students extend beyond employer expectations. They also reflect the practical journey of someone who once studied at the university before entering the corporate world.

Discussing career opportunities in the Francophone community

At the program “Conversations with Experts – Career Opportunities and Challenges in the Francophone Community,” an IPSIP Vietnam representative joined speakers from the education sector and the Francophone business community.

The program gave students direct insight into an important question as they prepare to graduate: What career paths can studying French open up, and what do employers genuinely look for in young candidates?

For language students, proficiency in another language is an advantage, but it does not represent their entire professional value. Adaptability, communication skills, an understanding of the corporate environment, and a willingness to acquire new knowledge are becoming increasingly important.

From an employer’s perspective, IPSIP had the opportunity to share these practical expectations with students and help them understand how to turn the capabilities developed at university into skills they can apply in the workplace.

Returning as both an alumnus and a business representative

IPSIP Vietnam has also participated in networking activities organized by the Faculty of French that bring together lecturers, alumni, and students, including a program celebrating Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.

This illustrates another dimension of the relationship between businesses and universities.

From internships to long-term talent development

This approach is not new to IPSIP Vietnam.

IPSIP previously maintained a relationship with the University of Science, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, particularly through information technology students who joined IPSIP while still studying or completing internships and later became full-time employees.

The university also invited IPSIP Vietnam to support academic activities, including serving as a business partner that proposed topics for selected IT student graduation projects.

In one collaboration invitation from the International Training & Education Center (ITEC), IPSIP was asked to participate as a project client for student teams enrolled in a joint program between the University of Science and Auckland University of Technology. The proposed topics ranged from software development and data analysis to technology assessment, information security, mobile systems, and other practical IT challenges.

Although these activities are no longer conducted as regularly as before, they demonstrate a collaboration model that IPSIP has previously implemented: bringing real-world business challenges into the academic environment so students can gain exposure to professional work before graduation.

Industry-university relationships should extend beyond a single recruitment campaign

A job posting may help a business find one candidate. A long-term relationship with a university, however, can create broader value: students learn about businesses earlier, universities gain a closer understanding of labor-market needs, and companies can contribute directly to preparing future talent.

This is the direction IPSIP Vietnam continues to pursue with its educational partners.

From using RMIT’s recruitment platform and considering internship proposals to joining discussions about the future of work and returning to HCMUE’s Faculty of French as both a business representative and an alumnus, each activity represents a small but continuous step forward.
