Recently, IPSIP Vietnam attended the Vietnam Security Summit 2026 – one of the largest annual cybersecurity events in Vietnam. Held on the morning of May 22, 2026, in Hanoi, the event was organized by the National Cyber Security Association in collaboration with IEC Group and relevant authorities. With the highly topical theme "Protecting the Digital Future in a Post-Quantum and AI World," the summit provided comprehensive and deep insights into today's information security landscape.
The "double-edged impact" of technology and the digital transformation challenge
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and the wave of digital transformation are profoundly reshaping the global economy.

However, this boom also introduces "double-edged" challenges for information security:
The Positive Side: AI serves as a powerful assistant, helping businesses automate operational processes, analyze data swiftly, and accelerate threat detection.
The Negative Side: Conversely, cybercriminals are leveraging AI itself to upgrade their attacks—such as phishing, ransomware, or identity theft—with unprecedented sophistication.
Meanwhile, the rise of quantum computing (the next generation of computers with immense processing power) threatens to break traditional cryptographic encryption methods. This reality forces nations and enterprises to swiftly transition into the post-quantum cryptography era for early self-defense.
Ensuring cybersecurity is a collective social responsibility
At the event, regulators and leaders unanimously agreed that information security is no longer just the job of tech engineers, but a shared responsibility of the entire community.
Colonel, PhD. Nguyen Hong Quan (Deputy Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention - Ministry of Public Security): "In the process of digital transformation, data is a strategic resource. As the volume of data from government agencies, businesses, and individuals grows exponentially in the digital environment, any lack of stringent protection measures means cyber risks will directly threaten economic security, social safety, and digital trust."
He noted that the cybersecurity landscape will continue to be complex, particularly with threats targeting core infrastructure such as finance, energy, and telecommunications. Organizations must proactively invest in technology, human resources, and risk management capabilities, while strengthening close coordination to build a sustainable cybersecurity ecosystem.
Echoing this view, Major General Nguyen Tung Hung (Deputy Commander of the Cyber Warfare Command - Ministry of National Defence) emphasized that data and digital infrastructure have become the "lifeblood" of the modern economy. Therefore, the responsibility for protection is no longer confined to specialized agencies like the Ministry of National Defence or the Ministry of Public Security, but belongs to society as a whole, especially the businesses operating these systems.
Plenary session: Shaping strategic priorities for the digital future
The plenary session gathered numerous in-depth reports from leading domestic and international experts:
New Era Trends: Major Tran Trung Hieu (National Cyber Security Center, Ministry of Public Security) outlined core cybersecurity priorities for 2026 and beyond.
Mastering Threats: Mr. Philip Dimitriu (Sophos) shared solutions to enhance monitoring capabilities and respond flexibly to complex digital threats.
The Battle in the Cloud: Mr. Lee Sang Yoon (PIOLINK INC) analyzed risks arising from hybrid and multi-cloud environments, where AI-driven attacks are on the rise.
Trustworthy AI Governance: Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khang (IBM Southeast Asia) presented solutions for AI model control and securing enterprise data lake architectures.
Security for Virtual Assistants: Mr. Mai Xuan Cuong (Viettel Cyber Security) dissected the new security challenges of protecting AI Agents as they integrate deeper into organizational systems.
The session was followed by a high-level panel discussion moderated by Mr. Do Ngoc Duy Trac (VinCSS), featuring candid debates and insights from representatives of the Government Cipher Committee, the National Cyber Security Association, alongside Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and CIOs from Masan, Ford Vietnam, VietinBank, and IBM.

Diving deep into specific problems, the summit was divided into three parallel, specialized thematic sessions:
Session 1: Data Security and Digital Identity
This seminar focused on data lifecycle risk management and preventing data leaks:
Ms. Dao Thu Thao (WEEDS VINA) introduced the Blackbox Series solution, which helps businesses monitor risks throughout the entire data lifecycle—from collection and processing to destruction.
Mr. Ivo Gajdica (EmbedIT) shed light on external threats such as Shadow IT (unapproved devices and software) and brand impersonation, while proposing real-time vulnerability detection methods.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Toan (MSB) shared practical experiences on balancing security, legal compliance, and operational innovation within a fast-growing organization.
Session 2: Protecting Critical Digital Infrastructure
Discussions revolved around solutions to strengthen the resilience of the economy's backbone infrastructure against complex AI and cloud threats, featuring presentations from F5, VSEC, Synology, OPSWAT, and Gigamon:
Mr. Nguyen Ngọc Minh (OPSWAT Vietnam) proposed a multi-layered defense strategy based on the Zero Trust model, helping organizations proactively isolate sophisticated malware and unpatched vulnerabilities (zero-day).
Mr. Phan Hoang Giap (VSEC) stated that traditional defense mindsets are obsolete in cloud environments. Instead, businesses need to combine Cloud Security Assessment (CSA) and Cloud Detection & Response (CDR) in real-time to maintain continuous operations.
Session 3: Integrating Risk Management into Business Strategy
Speakers from Qualys, M.Tech Vietnam, Dell Technologies, SpecterAI, and Veeam Software discussed how to align cybersecurity with growth goals:
Mr. Debashish Jyotiprakash (Qualys) recommended that enterprises shift from attack surface management to risk surface governance to prioritize resources for the most critical exposures.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh (M.Tech Vietnam) guided on public AI control solutions and protecting internal data models when deploying AI into operations.
Mr. Rommel de Guzman (Dell Technologies) shared a method for building infrastructure based on a cybersecurity maturity model, integrating three elements: detection, response, and system recovery post-incident.
Vibrant cybersecurity technology exhibition
Alongside the conference sessions, the technology exhibition brought together over 40 renowned domestic and international security solution providers (such as Sophos, Viettel Cyber Security, FPT, Huawei, CMC Telecom, Bitdefender, etc.).
Here, visitors directly experienced a wide array of next-generation cybersecurity technologies, including: AI-driven security, SOC/SIEM monitoring systems, IAM/PAM identity management, cloud security, post-quantum cryptography, deepfake detection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and DDoS mitigation solutions.
Vietnam Security Summit 2026 was not just a place to catch up on advanced tech trends, but also a clear answer to the security equation in the AI and post-quantum era. Understanding these challenges will empower organizations and businesses to proactively build their defense upgrade roadmaps, ensuring safety and sustainable growth in the digital space.
